Bringing Down The House, The Inside Story of How Six M.I.T. Students Took Vegas for Millions
by Ben Mezrich; 2002; The Free Press, New York; 257pages; 795.423 M617b; 6/20-6/21
This is exactly what the subtitle says, how 6 MIT genius figured out how to beat the house at blackjack. They were able to calculate using mathematical probabilities how many cards of each type were still in a six deck shoe. They did nothing illegal, but the casinos didn’t like them, because the casino is there to take your money and somebody was cutting into the profit margin. This reads like a suspense novel, well written. I was going to read more by Ben Mezrich, when I found had read two books by him that he had written under a pen name. RRRr

Whew – this is more like it. This time I was able to read your weekend story without squinting painfully. Do you find it as disconcerting as I do that FIREFIGHTERS couldn’t figure out how to turn off the fire alarm? Aren’t they supposed to be able to do anything? Especially anything with the word “fire” in it?
Looking good! Keep up the posting and you will figure this thing out!
Oh my gosh, what a pic! You were a twisted sister, and I was a pregnant vampire. Lov-e-ly. I do think you need a clearer picture of yourself, child, just to add to the fun. =o)
