What I Read 7.10

Lamplighter

The Lamplighterby Anthony O’Neill; 2003; Scribner, New York; 307 pages; Fiction O’Neill; 7/16-7/16

I had run out of books that I brought on vacation with Jesus in the Margins. So Sunshine Soldiers and this were what were on the shelf at the Moss house. The author set out to create an Edwardian type mystery in the style of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, he succeded to a point. The parts that are set there are good, but then he ventures past the point of reality and into the supernatural and the two parts don’t really cleave together. The story of a women whose dreams somehow affect reality or do they, is everyone just a figment of her imagination. RR
