Home at last

This morning Ruth Ann and I arrived at home just in time to go to church. I really wanted to be there today, because there was going to be announcements of staff changes. One of those changes I have known since the middle of last month, but was asked to not share with anyone. I shared with Ruth Ann and the boys and they also kept the secret. It is very hard to keep a secret when it weighing on your heart every moment. Among the announcements the elders shared this morning was that Clark Blakeman is leaving Trinity Fellowship after 11 years as an elder. He is probably my best friend and has been a real mentor to me, even though he is younger. I have often shared with him things that I couldn’t share with anyone else. He has helped shape my views on ministry and where the emphasis should be in ministry. Even before he told me I have been praying for where God wants us. I have told the elders at Trinity that I would like to get together with them and discuss the direction the body is headed. Hopefully these will be insightful conversations.
