The Disneylanders by Kate Abbott; Not Yet Published; 176 pages; 4/17/09-4/19/09
This is an unpublished manuscript by the wife of a baseball card blogger, that I discovered through my Padrographs blog.
It tells the story of a tween girl going to Disneyland with her Mom and Dad on vacation from Northern California. While she is there she meets up a boy about the same age who is visiting Disneyland with his Grandma and little sister. It is the story of her changing relationship with her parents, with the idea of vacationing at Disneyland and with others her own age of both genders. It is a great story story and lots of fun to read.
I would think many of us who have been to Disneyland might have our own Disneyland date stories. Years ago while I was in the Navy, around 1978, (before i was married) I met a young lady and spent the day with her. My ship had pulled into Ling Beach and I rode the bus out to Anaheim and started riding rides. My first attraction of the day was America the Beautiful, a 360 degree travel film of the US. As the camera started down Lombard Street in San Francisco, she leaned too far and started to fall. I caught her and we talked and we introduced ourselves, we spent the day together and said goodbye as the park closed. We wrote a few times and then just lost touch. RRRR

Thank you so much for taking the time to read the Disneylanders manuscript, and for reviewing it! I loved hearing your own charming Disneyland date story. America the Beautiful, indeed!
I’ve had the honor of reading DISNEYLANDERS before it is published, and I love the way Kate Abbott shows the often clumsy, sometimes graceful process of growing up, finding maturity, and learning to wear it your own unique way.
I can’t wait to host Ms. Abbott on my blog for debut authors!
