Tuck, King Raven Trilogy, The Legend Triumphs by Stephen R. Lawhead; 2009; 452 pages; Thomas Nelson Publishers, Nashville, TN; 9781595540874; 5/7/09-5/11/09
Finally Lawheads’ retelling of the Robin Hood trilogy is completed. Epic battles, guerrilla warfare, headstrong women and the restoration of a kingdom. I would like to have seen another volume featuring Allen O’Dale, who is introduced in this volume, one of the most interesting characters that Lawhead has. There are battles between Robin and his band of men and several different nobleman and kings. Robin often uses his sharp intellect and wit to get the best of his opponents. Merian goes against Robins’ wishes and gets captured for her trouble. After all the epic warfare and such, the peace is concluded between Robin and King William by their talking together with Tuck acting as mediator. It was kind of a disappointing ending given all the battles and such. RRr
