The poor fight, the rich reap benefits

If Not Now, When?, Duty and Sacrifice in America’s Time of Need by Colonel Jack Jacobs (Ret.) and Douglas Century; 2008; 292 pages; Berkley Caliber, New York, NY; 978-0-425-22359-8; 6/28/09-6/30/09

An outspoken Medal of Honor winner, speaks his mind on everything from Vietnam to Iraq and todays business and political climate.  Jack Jacobs chronicles his story from the lower rungs of American society to being a well respected military, business and political commentator for a major TV network.   He pulls no punches and states why he thinks that we are where are today.  Even if you don’t agree with everything he says, he makes many valid points, including why we don’t see the outrage over Iraq that we did over Vietnam.  I agree with him that their should be some sort of universal service for all members of the US population, so the burden is not disportionately on only the poorest, while the rich reap the benefits.  RRRR
