Washington Schlepped Here, Walking in the Nation’s Capital by Christopher Buckley; 159 pages; 2003; Crown Journeys, New York, NY; 1-4000-4687-4; 9/6-9/8
Christopher Buckley can to D.C. to write speeches for HW Bush for one year in 1981 and still lives there. I have this in audiobook format also so if I ever go to D.C. I will be able to listen to this while I actually walk around the town. This alternates between poignant, ridiculous and sublime, just like the town it is taking us through. There is only one book in this series that I didn’t like and that was the one on Portland. Buckley offers little known trivia and personal knowledge of D.C. RRR
Random Sentence from next book;
It was the kind of thing that would drive you crazy, if you weren’t already crazy to begin with.
