The Lost Child, A Mother’s Story by Julie Myerson; 2009; 323 pages; Bloomsbury, New York, NY; 978-1-59691-700-2; Book provided in exchange for a review; 12/19-12/26
This book was easy and difficult to read. Easy to read because it was so well written, difficult to read because of the pain that fairly drips off each page and the parallels in our life.
Julie Myerson is a best selling English novelist who was researching a long dead child named Mary Yelloy, who died in 1838. At the same time her oldest child was smoking skunk, a especially strong type of cannabis, and becoming rebellious. He began to steal money and become nocturnal, disturbing the family. The parallels as Myerson discovered more about Mary Yelloy and about her own son are interesting. The pain in each life is obvivous. RRR
