In the Bible Noah’s wife is a nameless woman who we know had given birth to three sons. Thorne writes a story of Noah’s wife which goes from her birth until after the flood. Noah does not build an ark, but rather a house that floats. There are no animals divinely directed to the ‘ark” but Shem is an animal lover that happens to have a large number of animals in the house, when the flood hits. Na’amah is torn between her love for the young man she grew up with, Yanner and the man she was bethroed to, Noah. Her tribe is torn between worship of Father God and Mother Godess. This bears only the slighest resemblance to the biblical story, but it is a compelling read of biblical proportions. I was engrossed and read it straight through. It was a great story. RRRR
