Arlo Guthries  most famous song is one that local radio station, KGON, plays in it entirety, all 18 minutes of it, every Thanksgiving Day, Alice’s’ Restaurant.  Arlo is one of the children of renowned troubadour Woody Guthrie.

In 1972 he covered the song that is todays feature, The City of New Orleans.  Originally written by Steve Goodman, this song about long distance train travel has always been one of my favorites and is usually on my ipod.
