Monday Music

Several years ago I attended a Padres vs. Mariners game at Safeco Field.  After the game I went down to where the Padres were boarding the team bus and Tim Flannery and I exchanged birthday presents. We are the same age, I am just 2 weeks older than Tim.  Tim was then a utility infielder for the Padres and I was working for Alaska Airlines as a ramp agent.  I forget what I gave him, but he handed me a copy of Secret World, a CD of songs that he and a band had recorded.  Tim just came out with his 10th CD, Travelin’ Shoes.  Featured here today is “Foot of the Cross”, Tim wrote the songs on “Pieces of the Past” for his Dad who was suffering from Alzheimers, he had been a coal miner and a pastor.  Tim looked for a hymn for his father.  When he couldn’t find one he wrote this song.  I really like Tims’ music and love the sentiments that he expresses.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
