This is not my usual style of book, I picked it up because Libby nominated for discussion at our bookgroup tonight and it was chosen. Surprisingly to me, I enjoyed it. Set in England in contemporary times, it recalls Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre but is engrossing and a real page turner. Margaret Lea is a woman who has grown up in a bookstore, loves to read and has written a few biographical pamphlets of obscure authors when she is summoned and asked to write the biography of one the bestselling authors alive. As she does some preliminary research she finds that the author has told stories when interviewed, so she ask the author to tell her the truth. The author agrees and begins to tell her story as a story, it leads Margaret down roads to her own story and to other stories. A well written story that has elements of suspense, romance, thrillers and a smidgen of a couple of other genres. I would recommend that you read this when you have some time that you can set aside because you will be sucked in and not want to put it down. Thanks, Libby. Grade A

I’m glad you liked it, Rod. I always wonder, when I recommend a book, if others will like it as much as I do.
